Springs carry the full weight of the door, cycling tens of thousands of times before wearing out. When one fails, we replace it correctly, not just quickly.
A mismatched spring either fails early or overloads the opener. We size it correctly every time.
A single-spring swap on a pair often means a second failure within months. We'll lay out the tradeoff honestly.
A loaded torsion spring can cause serious injury if mishandled. Our technicians are trained specifically on safe unwinding and winding procedure.
Higher cycle-rated springs cost a bit more upfront and last considerably longer under daily use.
Each service below is handled by a technician trained specifically for this kind of repair, not a generalist guessing at it.
Precise torsion spring replacement matched by wire gauge, coil diameter, and wind direction to your specific door weight and track configuration.
Extension springs are replaced in matched pairs with new safety cables, since a mismatched pair throws the door off balance.
A snapped spring means the door won't move safely. We carry multiple spring sizes on every truck for a same-visit fix.
Older doors with extension springs can be converted to a torsion system for smoother, quieter, longer-lasting operation.
We estimate remaining cycle life based on door usage and spring age, so you can replace before a sudden failure strands you.
Describe the spring symptom, a loud bang, a sagging door, or a door that won't lift, and we'll schedule a technician.
Our vans carry the spring inventory needed for most jobs without a parts run.
We measure the door weight, wire gauge, and coil diameter, then quote the exact spring spec before work begins.
The door is verified balanced and safe to operate before the job is called complete.
“Diagnosed the exact wire gauge needed and had it on the truck already. No parts run, no delay.”
“They measured everything before quoting instead of eyeballing it like the last company did.”
“Balance test after the install showed the door lifts perfectly by hand now, opener disconnected.”
Cost depends on spring type, wire gauge, and whether one or both springs need replacing, confirmed as a flat price before work starts.
On a torsion pair, we recommend both since the second spring is on the same wear cycle, but we'll explain the reasoning and let you choose.
This is one of the more dangerous DIY repairs in a home due to the stored energy involved.
Most springs are rated for around 10,000 cycles, roughly seven to nine years of typical daily use.
A spring that's too weak puts extra strain on the opener with every cycle, accelerating wear.
Same-day service is standard, and the repair itself usually finishes within a couple of hours.
Same-day dispatch, upfront pricing, and a written warranty on every visit.
